  • Game Actions: Your card selections, votes, and gameplay choices

  • Room Codes: Randomly generated codes to identify game sessions
  • Player IDs: Anonymous unique identifiers (UUIDs) generated for each player
  • Game Statistics: Scores, round data, and game results during active gameplay
  • Session Data: Temporary data stored in your browser's sessionStorage

3. Information We DO NOT Collect

  • No email addresses or contact information
  • No passwords or authentication credentials
  • No payment information
  • No location data
  • No tracking cookies or analytics
  • No personal identification beyond usernames

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely for:

1. Gameplay Functionality

  • Managing game rooms and player sessions
  • Processing card submissions and votes
  • Calculating and displaying scores
  • Coordinating real-time multiplayer interactions

2. Game Integrity

  • Preventing duplicate usernames in the same room
  • Preventing self-voting
  • Ensuring fair gameplay rules

Data Storage and Security

Storage Location

  • All game data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database)
  • Session data stored locally in your browser (sessionStorage)

Security Measures

  • Input validation with Zod schemas
  • XSS prevention (HTML sanitization)
  • Row Level Security (RLS) policies on database
  • Anonymous play (no authentication required)
  • Secure HTTPS connections

Data Retention

Automatic Deletion:

  • Game rooms: Automatically deleted 24 hours after creation
  • Player data: Deleted with room data (within 24 hours)
  • Submissions and votes: Deleted with room data
  • Session data: Cleared when you exit or close browser tab

No Long-Term Storage: We do not maintain user profiles, track gameplay history across sessions, or store any data permanently. All data is temporary and session-based.

  • No Cookies: MemeRank does not use cookies
  • No Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services
  • sessionStorage Only: Data stored temporarily in browser, cleared on exit

  • Exit Anytime: Leave games without penalty

  • Automatic: All data is automatically deleted within 24 hours
  • Manual: Exit the game to clear sessionStorage immediately

Children's Privacy

MemeRank is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The game includes a "+18" mode with mature content that should only be accessed by adults.
